Hilmar County Water District (HCWD), provider of water, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, and storm drain services for the town of Hilmar, is currently searching for a highly skilled Water Operator. 

Water Operator is the entry-level class in the treatment and distribution operations series. Under close supervision, Water Operators learn the proper water treatment and distribution procedures. Under direct supervision, operators run and maintain all the District’s wells along with all transmission and distribution main and service lines. 

Water Operators must be able to perform a wide variety of work within varying skill levels in the construction, replacement, repair, installation, and cleaning of the District’s water distribution system, sanitary sewer, storm collection system, and related District facilities.

In addition, Candidates must always possess a valid Class “C” California Driver’s License, have strong observation, communication, and critical-thinking skills, as well as proficiency with modern technologies. Bilingual skills are preferred, but not required.

The position will work out of our Corporation Yard, which is located at 19903 First Street, Hilmar, CA 95324. Hilmar County Water District offers a competitive package of salary and benefits, as well as a flexible work schedule.
